One of the greatest forwards of the last decade, Joyce was a lethal scorer from both play and placed balls. Winner of 2 All-Ireland's, 6 Connacht titles and 3 All Stars, the Killererin man retired from the Galway colours in 2012.

As the Dancing at the Crossroads song goes 
"And when I Think of young O'Gorman, 
Throuogh the midfield he was stormin'
And then the Cusack Stand erupted
When he scored from 60 yards.

Larry O or "brother" was a great servant for Wexford over the years and got his just rewards in 96, finally winning a coveted All-Ireland medal and being named as Hurler of the Year.
Mainly played in the half back line midfield area but popped up in the forwards in the latter end of his playing career, scoring a famous last minute equaliser against Tipperary in the 2001 All-Ireland Semi-Final.

One of Wexford's hurling giants and, I think, the top scorer ever from play in the championship, Buffer's Alley's Tony Doran. Had a great paw on him and was a constant torment to full-backs all over the country.

Did a caricature image of him previously but tried a different style with this one using pen outline and a watercolour effect colouring.

Oulart-The Ballagh's Martin Storey played for the Wexford senior hurling team from 1982 to 2001 amassing a total score of 26-306 for the Purple and Gold.
He went on to captain Wexford to their All-Ireland final victory in 1996. Storey picked up 3 All-Stars during his career. Here he is in typical pose, slotting yet another pint over the bar from the half forward line.

It's always the ones you don't expect. I posted this image to twitter and Facebook and it became, by an absolute country mile, the most popular illustration I've done so far.
I decided to do an illustration of Liam Spratt after seeing the pictures from the recent Wexford GAA awards night where Liam was the MC on the night.
Liam Spratt always brings a unique style to his commentary-saying the first thing that pops into his head a lot of the time and gets totally engrossed in the game unfolding before his eyes. This often leads to his now infamous commentating slip ups. 
No referee is safe, Co-commentators had better finish their point quick and the tea served out had better be of decent quality when the man Spratt is about.
I threw in a few of his more famous quotes but there will always be additions as long as Liam has the microphone. Let's hope that's for a long time to come.

One of the best goalkeepers in hurling, I had always planned on doing an illustration of Clare's Davy Fitz. Deciding on the pose was simple enough. Here he shows the typical passion or that bit of madness that he always brought to the game. A real character of hurling.
